“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through
Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels
nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor
depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the
love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” –Romans 8:37
Today is a day that began with a great load of stress, a
load that grew heavier on my shoulders as the day progressed. But I have found,
as I always find when I go to my Father in prayer and meditation, those words
of comfort and joy that always soothe my spirit. Because of His promises, I
have hope; because I have waited on the Lord, I have strength; because of His great love, He has renewed my spirit.
“The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of
the earth. He does not grow faint or weary; His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might, He increases
strength. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but
they who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on
wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not
faint.” –Isaiah 40:28-31
I am satisfied in my quest for peace, for my human heart
belongs to Him who offers perfect love and mercy. How wonderful is the
thought—how much more awesome is the truth!—that in everything we are to endure
in life, and no matter what fears or pains the day brings, we have a Savior
whose arms are always open wide!
“I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.” –
Isaiah 46:4b
